The University of Wisconsin men's hockey team defeated Michigan State 5-2 on Friday night.

Liam Malmquist started the scoring for the Badgers with a goal four minutes into the game. De St Phalle and Ceulemans scored goals in the first period to give the Badgers a 3-1 lead after one.

Michigan State scored one in the second period before the Badgers added two third period goals. Jared Moe tallied 27 saves for Wisconsin in the victory.

Wisconsin and Michigan State face-off Saturday at 8 p.m. on Bally Sports Wisconsin.
