Every year during awards season in the film industry, movie studios will campaign in hopes to get their actors an Oscar nomination.
Weeks before All-Star weekend all NBA teams do the same thing, trying to get their players votes and in the game. Sometimes even for the dunk contest, like #LetPatDunk2020.
But has any player campaigned to try and get into the NBA Rising Stars Challenge?
Well, Milwaukee Bucks rookie MarJon Beauchamp wants to be in that game!
The 6-foot-7 athletic guard, who is averaging 6.0 points in 15.5 minutes and is in the top 10 in rookie 3-point percentage (32.4%), wants to show the world why he was drafted by the Bucks in the first round by playing on the Rising Stars Challenge stage.
“I was in it last year (NBA G League Next Gem Game as a member of the G League Ignite), it was an amazing experience,” said an excited Beauchamp. “It’s definitely one of my goals I wrote down for this year, to make it again. So, let’s doooo it!”
So, what do you say Deer District folks? Can we try to get the kid that grew up in the Northwest in Washington State a little closer to home in Salt Lake City for the 2023 Rising Stars Challenge?
For your consideration, #RisingStarJon.
