Every Thursday this season Bally Sports Wisconsin takes a closer look at some specific young players in the Milwaukee Brewers’ farm system -- as well as noting others who might be stepping up -- measuring, highlighting and evaluating their progress.

This is the 5th edition of the 2023 Young Brewers Tracker.

Tyler Black, 3B (age 22/Double-A)

Last week: 5 games, 15 AB, 2 H, 3 R, RBI, 3B, 4 SB, 6 BB, 8 K, .133 BA

Season: 36 games, 116 AB, .233 BA, .435 OBP, .431 SLG, .866 OPS, 3 2B, 1 3B, 6 HR, 25 R, 19 RBI, 23 SB, 37 BB, 36 K.

Notable: Black went 2-for-4 on May 21 with a pair of walks. The 22-year-old swiped two bases and scored three runs in the win over Chattanooga.

Eric Brown Jr., SS (age 22/High-A)

Last week: 6 games, 25 AB, 8 H, 2 2B, HR, 7 R, 4 RBI, 4 SB, 3 BB, 5 K, .320 BA

Season: 32 games, 121 AB, .248 BA, .361 OBP, .339 SLG, .700 OPS, 5 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 22 R, 6 RBI, 20 SB, 17 BB, 22 K.

Notable: Milwaukee’s first-round pick in 2022 went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI on May 24, including his second homer of the season. Brown Jr. has reached base safely in 16 of 17 games this month.

Jackson Chourio, OF (age 19/Double-A)

Last week: 5 games, 18 AB, 1 H, 2 R, 2B, RBI, 3 BB, 10 K, .056 BA

Season: 38 games, 155 AB, .245 BA, .294 OBP, .381 SLG, .675 OPS, 6 2B, 0 3B, 5 HR, 17 R, 23 RBI, 10 SB, 12 BB, 42 K.

Notable: It was a rough week for Chourio, who notched just one hit in five games. The 19-year-old did finish the week by reaching base safely in three of four.

Robert Gasser, SP (age 23/Triple-A)

Last week: 1 game, 1-0, 6 2/3 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 8 K

Season: 8 games (7 starts), 2-0, 4.74 ERA, 38 IP, 28 H, 3 HR, 25 BB, 47 K, .204 OBA, 1.39 WHIP.

Notable: Gasser earned his second win of the season after allowing just three hits and two runs against Durham. The lefty tied a season-high with eight strikeouts.

Jacob Misiorowski, SP (age 21/Low-A)

Last week: 1 game (1 start), 0-1, 3 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 BB, 7 K

Season: 7 games (7 starts), 0-1, 4.08 ERA, 17 2/3 IP, 9 H, 0 HR, 9 BB, 32 K, .153 OBA, 1.02 WHIP.

Notable: Of the nine outs Misiorowski recorded in his lone start of the week, seven came via the strikeout. The righty did allow a season-high four runs on four walks which was also a high for the season.

Jeferson Quero, C (age 20/Double-A)

Last week: 5 games, 20 AB, 6 H, 1 2B, 2 HR, 4 R, 6 RBI, 2 BB, SB, 5 K, .300 BA

Season: 28 games, 105 AB, .286 BA, .327 OBP, .552 SLG, .879 OPS, 4 2B, 0 3B, 8 HR, 18 R, 20 RBI, 2 SB, 7 BB, 25 K.

Notable: How about another multi-homer game? On May 16, Quero set a Biloxi Shuckers team record with three homers in a game. This past week against Chattanooga, Quero deposited two home runs May 21.

Abner Uribe, RP (age 22/Double-A)

Last week: DNP

Season: 9 games, 1-0, 2 SV, 1.00 ERA, 9 IP, 3 H, 0 HR, 7 BB, 17 K, .208 OBA, 1.50 WHIP.

Notable: Uribe still hasn't pitched since May 3 after landing on the 7-day injured list May 10.

Other notes: Carolina LHP Nate Peterson (8th round, 2022) was sharp in two appearances for the Mudcats. In a start on May 18, Peterson went five innings and allowed just one run, getting the win. In four innings of relief on May 24, the lefty yielded just two runs while striking-out six. ... Wisconsin 2B Robert Moore (Comp B, 2022) notched seven hits during the week including home runs in back-to-back games against Quad Cities from both sides of the plate. Moore has reached base safely in eight straight. ... Timber Rattlers SS Eduardo Garcia launched his third home run of the season and recorded a hit in four of six games. ... Biloxi RHP Carlos Rodriguez (6th round, 2021) gave up just two runs in six innings in his lone start of the week. It was tied for the longest outing of the season for Rodriguez.
