The Marquette Golden Eagles men’s basketball team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 regular season Thursday.

Following an exhibition against Bowie State on Nov. 4, the Golden Eagles will officially begin the Shaka Smart era with a clash against SIUE (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville) on Nov. 9 at Fiserv Forum.

Other highlights early in the season include a matchup against Illinois at home and the Shriner’s Childrens Charleston Classic tournament in South Carolina, in which the Golden Eagles will go head-to-head vs. Mississippi on Nov. 18.

The annual tilt against in-state rival Wisconsin is scheduled for Dec. 4 at the Kohl Center.

Then, the Golden Eagles begin Big East conference play Dec. 18 in a road game against Xavier. Connecticut will open Marquette’s home conference schedule Dec. 21.

Marquette will host St. John’s on March 5 to wrap up conference play before the Big East tournament March 9-12 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

In all, the Golden Eagles will host 17 contests at Fiserv Forum and 10 against Big East opponents.
