Due to changes from the 2020 football season, which resulted in a shortened schedule with cancellations, the Big Ten made some revisions to the 2022 schedules.

For Wisconsin, this means a couple changes in dates plus two switches in venues.

The Badgers had been scheduled to open the 2022 season against Illinois in former head coach Bret Bielema’s return to Camp Randall Stadium.

Now Wisconsin will begin with another team from Illinois – Illinois State, which originally had been scheduled to play in Madison on Sept. 24. However, the Wisconsin at Ohio State contest, which had been Nov. 12, was moved to Sept. 24.

The Illinois game got moved to Oct. 1. Wisconsin at Northwestern, which had been that date, was bumped to the following week, Oct. 8, which also pushed back the contest at Michigan State from that date to Oct. 15.

Maryland was originally scheduled to visit Madison on Oct. 15. That contest is now Nov. 5, replacing the Nebraska contest, which was moved to Nov. 19. The game at Iowa was switched from Nov. 19 to Nov. 12.

Also, Wisconsin had been scheduled to host Nebraska and play at Purdue – which was the case in 2021 – and those venues have been reversed, so now the Badgers will head to Lincoln, Neb., and the Boilermakers will come to Madison.

Got it? Just in case, here’s Wisconsin’s revised 2022 schedule (all times to be determined at a later date):
