DALLAS –The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have acquired the draft rights to the 37th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Jaden Hardy, from Sacramento in exchange for 2024 and 2028 second-round picks.
Hardy (6-4, 198) spent the 2021-22 season with the NBA G League Ignite and averaged a team-high 19.8 points to go along with 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in 24 games.
The Detroit native averaged 30.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 8.4 assists as a junior at Coronado High School (Henderson, Nevada) en route to earning Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year and Las Vegas Review-Journal Boys Athlete of the Year honors. Despite having his senior season disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he still earned McDonald’s All-American and USA Nike Hoops Summit accolades in 2020-21.
Hardy, who is set to turn 20 years old on July 5, was ranked as ESPN’s top guard and the No. 2 player in the 2021 high school class.
