The Minnesota Twins unveiled their new uniforms Friday, their first complete overhaul since the 1987 season.
The look includes a new logo – an M with the north star above it.
Additionally, for the first time in Twins history, no elements are outlined in a secondary color or accentuated by a drop shadow.
Also for the first time, Minnesota will have “Twin Cities” emblazoned upon their chest with one of the alternate uniforms. This will be the first pro sports team to use Twin Cities on a uniform.
Red, white and navy are still the primary colors, although they’ve been modernized, as has the Twins script and the interlocking TC logo.
Minnesota unveiled four uniforms – home, road and two alternates. Each has a nod to history, including pinstripes on the road uniforms, a return to the legacy cream color as well as the sleeves featuring “M” and “STP.”
It’s a new era for the Twins and, if we say so ourselves, it’s a clean one.
