Despite a shorthanded roster, the Minnesota Lynx beat the Washington Mystics, 79-68, in their first and only preseason game of 2021.

Minnesota was without Kayla McBride and Napheesa Collier, who are both still playing overseas. Sylvia Fowles and Aeriel Powers sat out in preparation for Friday’s season opener against Phoenix.

The Mystics were playing without star Elena Delle Donne.

Rachel Banham led the Lynx with 23 points, making five of 10 three-pointers. Jessica Shepard added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lynx held Washington to 19-for-66 shooting (29.2%).
