The Minnesota Wild signed veteran defenseman Jordie Benn to a one-year contract worth $900k, the team announced Friday.

Benn, 34, will be entering his 11th season in the NHL. He debuted for Dallas during the 2011-12 campaign and has also played for Montreal, Vancouver and Winnipeg. In 556 career games, Benn has tallied 24 goals, 103 assists, 127 points and 222 penalty minutes.

Last season, Benn appeared in 31 games for the Canucks before being traded to the Jets in exchange for a sixth-round pick April 12. He registered one goal and nine assists in 38 games split between Vancouver and Winnipeg.
