The Minnesota Wild announced Thursday that they signed forward Sammy Walker to a two-year, entry-level deal.

Walker recorded 112 points, including 48 goals, in 144 games during four seasons at the University of Minnesota. Walker ranked second on the Gophers in his senior season in goals with 14 in 39 games played.

Following a 26-point season in his freshman year at Minnesota, Walker was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. The year prior to that, Walker was named the Mr. Hockey award winner in the state of Minnesota following his senior season at Edina.

He was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round (200th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
