Minnesota retained one of its young standouts Tuesday, re-signing defenseman Calen Addison to a one-year contract worth $825,000.
The 23-year-old Addison tallied 29 points (three goals, 26 assists) in 62 games for the Wild last season, setting a single-season franchise record for assists by a rookie. He led NHL rookies in points on the power play (18) and finished third among rookie blueliners in scoring.
Addison entered the league as a second-round draft choice (No. 53 overall) of the Penguins and joined Minnesota via trade on Feb. 10, 2020. He has recorded 33 points and a plus/minus of -21 over 80 games in parts of three seasons in a Wild sweater.
