The Minnesota Wild dealt veteran defenseman Dmitry Kulikov to Anaheim on Wednesday, clearing an opening in their top-six defensemen.
The Wild received future considerations for Kulikov, who signed as a free agent last offseason. In his lone season in Minnesota, Kulikov had seven goals and 17 assists while recording a career-high +23.
Kulikov, who turns 32 in October, is scheduled to earn $2.225,000 this upcoming season in the final year of his contract.
His trade leaves the Wild with an expected top-six of Jonas Brodin, Matt Dumba, Alex Goligoski, Jacob Middleton and Jared Spurgeon as the first five with likely either Calen Addison or Jon Merrill filling Kulikov’s vacated spot.
