Outfielder Brent Rooker has been reinstated from the paternity list, the Minnesota Twins announced Friday.

In 44 games for the Twins this season, Rooker has slashed .203/.291/.392 with seven home runs, eight doubles and 13 RBI. He returns in the nick of time before a three-game set against the Toronto Blue Jays that should feature plenty of offense.

Additionally, Minnesota placed shortstop Andrelton Simmons on the restricted list Friday. The Gold Glover reportedly was unable to travel to Canada due to visa and immigration issues.

The Twins also selected the contract of pitcher Nick Vincent, who has appeared in two games for the club this season and owns a 2.08 ERA across 4 1/3 innings of relief, and optioned starter/reliever Andrew Albers to Triple-A St. Paul.
