Before Monday's series gets going against the Boston Red Sox, the Minnesota Twins made a roster move earlier in the day. Left-handed pitcher Jovani Moran has been recalled from Triple-A St. Paul while left-handed pitcher Devin Smeltzer was sent back down to Triple-A.
This will be the fourth different stint for Moran with the Twins this year with the lefty posting a 1.93 ERA in 20 appearances.
Smeltzer had just been recalled by the Twins on Aug. 20 and made three appearances in this stay with the Twins. Smeltzer pitched a combined 7 2/3 innings, winning one game and posting an ERA of 1.17.
