Taylor Rogers, the subject of trade rumors, might be off the market as the Minnesota Twins placed the left-handed reliever on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Rogers suffered a sprained left middle index finger during the ninth inning of Minnesota’s eventual 6-5 win over Detroit on Monday night.
This will be Rogers’ first trip to the IL of his career. With the MLB trading deadline Friday, the timing isn’t the greatest.
A late addition to this year’s All-Star Game, Rogers has a 3.35 ERA, 1.140 WHIP and a career-high 13.2 K/9 this season.
Taking Rogers’ place on the roster is right-hander Beau Burrows, who was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul. Burrows has allowed two runs in 8 2/3 innings with the Saints. He debuted with Minnesota on July 17 against the Tigers, pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Minnesota takes on Detroit against Tuesday on Bally Sports North, beginning with Twins Live at 6:30 p.m.
