The Minnesota Twins activated utility man Luis Arraez from the seven-day concussion injured list, the team announced Tuesday.

To make room on the 26-man roster, Minnesota optioned infielder Nick Gordon to Triple-A St. Paul.

Arraez missed Minnesota’s last five games with concussion-like symptoms after a collision at home plate May 3.

In 2021, Arraez has started nine games for the Twins at third base, nine at second base and seven in left field. He’s registered a .291/.398/.372 slash line with two doubles, one triple, one home run and 11 RBI. Arraez has walked 14 times compared to 11 strikeouts.

Arraez will start in left field and bat leadoff for the Twins’ series opener against the Chicago White Sox at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Gordon, the Twins’ first-round pick in 2014, made his MLB debut May 6, starting the game at second base and going 1 for 2 with a walk and two stolen bases.

The Twins-White Sox series will be televised on Bally Sports North.
