Esezi Otomewo is staying in Minnesota.

With their first pick of the fifth round (No. 165 overall) of the 2022 NFL draft, the Vikings selected the former Gophers defensive end.

He’s the first Gophers player drafted by the Vikings since 2010.

A two-year starter, Otomewo earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors in 2021 after recording 30 tackles, 4.5 for loss, with three sacks.

In four seasons he had 81 tackles, 12.5 for loss, 7.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
