Due to changes from the 2020 football season, which resulted in a shortened schedule with cancellations, the Big Ten made some revisions to the 2022 schedules.
For Minnesota, this means several changes in dates to the previously announced schedule. No opponents or venues were switched.
The Gophers’ first three games of 2022 – all non-conference battles – remains the same.
However, the first Big Ten game of the season which had been slated to see Minnesota host Iowa on Sept. 24 will now be played at Michigan State on that date. The Hawkeyes game was moved to Nov. 19.
The only two conference games on Minnesota’s original 2022 schedule which remain unchanged are the Nov. 12 home game vs. Northwestern and the season finale at Wisconsin on Nov. 26.
Even the Saturday the Gophers originally were scheduled to be off – Oct. 29 – now has a game, with Minnesota’s bye now three weeks earlier.
Here’s a look at Minnesota’s revised 2022 schedule (all times to be determined at a later date):
Sept. 1 – New Mexico State
Sept. 10 – Western Illinois
Sept. 17 – Colorado
Sept. 24 – at Michigan State
