ST. LOUIS, MO. The St. Louis Cardinals have activated Yadier Molina from the 10-day Injured List and optioned catcher Ali Sánchez to Memphis.

Molina was placed on the Injured List on April 27 with a right foot tendon strain and missed 11 games while he was sidelined. Before hitting the IL, he was leading the Cardinals in batting (.323), doubles (5), home runs (5) and RBI (14) at the time he was injured. Molina will waste no time getting back in the Cardinals lineup as the veteran will start behind the plate Saturday afternoon against the Colorado Rockies.

Sánchez appeared in just one game with the Cardinals and picked up his first hit with the club. He will remain with the team as a Taxi Squad member.
