In their second preseason test, the Minnesota Timberwolves forced overtime on a late dunk by Jaylen Nowell and exited Denver with a 114-112 victory over the Nuggets.

Trailing 101-99 late in the fourth quarter, Nowell cruised through the lane and threw down a two-handed slam to tie the game with three seconds left.

The Nuggets pulled ahead 112-105 in overtime before Minnesota scored the final nine points of the game -- the last six by Nowell himself.

Malik Beasley led the Wolves with 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting (1 of 5 from 3-point range). Karl-Anthony Towns poured in 12 points and added five rebounds in 22 minutes.

Denver guard Nah’Shon Hyland nailed six 3-pointers and registered a game-high 21 points for the Nuggets, who led by as many as 15 points in the opening quarter.

Minnesota (2-0) continues its exhibition schedule Monday night with a matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers at 9:30 p.m.
