Christian Yelich’s stay on the Milwaukee Brewers’ roster was short-lived.

One day after being activated from the injured list, playing for the first time since April 11 and going 2-for-4 in Milwaukee’s 4-3 loss at Philadelphia, Yelich landed back on the injured list thanks to a lower back strain.

“Last night told us that he's not going to be able to do this on a daily basis,” manager Craig Counsell told reporters in his pregame press conference. “And so we need to stop and completely resolve this. At this point, we don't have an answer."

Outfielder Tyrone Taylor, who was sent to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, was recalled and is batting sixth and playing right field in Milwaukee’s lineup Tuesday against the Phillies.

Yelich is batting .353 on the season but with just one extra-base hit, a double, in 41 plate appearances.

Taylor is hitting .323 with a pair of doubles and home runs in 35 plate appearances.
