Well folks, it all comes down to this. It’s championship weekend. Game 7. The last hurrah. The Super Bowl. Do or die. Winner takes all.
Chances are, you probably don’t need any roster help if you’ve made it to your league’s championship round. You have a good team and have managed it well through the waiver wire and trades. However, star players don’t always get the job done (I’m looking at you, DeAndre Hopkins and Mark Andrews), so making adds based on favorable matchups and recent play might be a strategic but risky move.
The playing statuses of Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts remain uncertain for Sunday. Look to Brock Purdy and Gardner Minshew as streaming options if you need quarterback help to win your title.
Here are the final recommended pickups for the 2022 season. Thanks for reading along this year. Hopefully, my suggestions have helped you in some way.
Good luck!
Jahan Dotson, WR, Commanders
Week 17 matchup: vs. Browns
The 2022 first-round pick continues to pay dividends for Washington after scoring his third touchdown in as many weeks and his seventh of the season, tying him with Green Bay’s Christian Watson for the most TDs by a rookie receiver.
Dotson had an impressive showing against the 49ers’ league-best defense, logging a season-high six receptions (on a team-high nine targets) for 76 yards and a TD. He has 24 targets in the Commanders' last three games, good for 15 catches, 235 yards and three TDs.
The only reason to hesitate starting Dotson this week would be Washington’s QB situation. Taylor Heinicke started in Week 16, but his turnover woes continued with an interception and lost fumble and got him benched for Carson Wentz, who completed 12 of 16 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Head coach Ron Rivera is still undecided on which QB will start against Cleveland.
The Browns secondary is among the best in the league, surrendering just 201.5 passing yards per game, so that will make things tough for Dotson regardless of who’s under center. However, Cleveland will likely aim to stuff the box against Washington’s run game, forcing a pass-heavy day for the Commanders.

Chuba Hubbard, RB, Panthers
Week 17 matchup: at Buccaneers
For a brief period, D’Onta Foreman was the Carolina’s clear RB1 following the Christian McCaffrey trade. Hubbard has challenged that notion a bit over the last three weeks with a pair of standout performances.
In last Sunday’s 37-23 win over Detroit, Hubbard amassed 125 rushing yards on just 12 carries. Foreman had better stats (21 carries, 165 yards, one TD), but Hubbard has shown that he’s worthy of RB2/Flex status in deeper leagues. He had 99 total yards and a touchdown in the Panthers’ Week 14 triumph over Seattle.
Even as Carolina’s No. 2 RB, Hubbard is worth adding and playing if you’re in need of running back help. This Sunday, the Panthers face Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, and in the teams’ first meeting this season — a 21-3 Carolina victory — Hubbard had 73 total yards and a touchdown.

Noah Fant, TE, Seahawks
Week 17 matchup: vs. Jets
Seattle’s TE1 has scored touchdowns in three of the last four weeks. That’s the good news. The bad news is that he’s TD-dependent for fantasy purposes, having drawn just 15 targets for 11 receptions during that stretch.
Nonetheless, Fant is a reliable option for Geno Smith and the Seahawks and could be in store for a notable outing against the Jets this Sunday. A lot of attention will go to Kenneth Walker III on the ground and DK Metcalf in the air, leaving Fant to feast in the flat.
Look for Fant to be in the ballpark of five catches, 74 yards and a TD against the Jets. He is up for grabs in 76% of Yahoo leagues and in 60% of ESPN leagues.
