Each week, the Noise highlights under-started names who he believes are destined to torch the competition. To qualify, each player must be started in fewer than 60% of Yahoo leagues. Speaking as an accountability advocate, I will post results, whether genius or moronic, the following week. Scoring thresholds in .5 PPR format are — QB: 18 fantasy points, RB: 12 fantasy points (10 for shockers), WR: 11 fantasy points, TE: 10 fantasy points.

2% $5,500 at Seahawks Seahawks -2 42

Looking over the shoulder, in the vehicle side mirror or through the iPhone camera on selfie mode, Mariota is constantly reminded just how close rookie Desmond Ridder is. Though ominous local reports already have the veteran passer on notice, it’s unlikely he’ll receive a demotion anytime soon. If the Falcons coaching staff were fantasy-aware, a change at QB certainly isn’t warranted. Due to Mariota’s appreciable duality, he ranks QB13 after two weeks, averaging 205.5 passing yards and 44.0 rushing yards per game. He has also completed 72.7% of his attempts. Throwing darts in the night is a description that doesn’t apply to the Falcon.

Seattle, coming off the euphoria of defeating Russell Wilson and Denver in Week 1, showed its true colors down the left coast against the 49ers. Briefly against Trey Lance (pour one out!) and Jimmy Garoppolo, the Seahawks surrendered 7.7 passing yards per attempt. Cornerbacks Michael Jackson and Tariq Woolen have had their moments, but they make up a beatable unit. With Drake London’s ascending profile and Kyle Pitts’ dueness, the ‘Hawks will surely be challenged.

When the dust settles, expect another strong across-the-board effort by Mariota, a passer best-suited for fantasy and not necessarily reality.

Fearless Forecast: 206 passing yards, 1 passing TD, 1 interception, 47 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 21.9 fantasy points

18% $6,100 vs. Bills Bills -5.5 53.5

After a 469-yard, six-TD come-from-behind victory for Tua against the Ravens, an emphatic MAHALO is well-deserved. The blazing speed and sharp route-running associated with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle has the Hawaiian blowing through Fantasyland with the ferocity of a major hurricane. Expect him to continue to uproot trees. Yes, the Bills secondary has performed doggedly through two games, giving up 5.58 passing yards per attempt and 181.5 passing yards per game. But still without Tre’Davious White and down Dane Jackson in the secondary, there’s considerable appeal for the Miami passing attack. In what could be a shootout affair (53.5 projected total), Tagovailoa, who ranks in the top 10 in air yards, has solid odds of eclipsing the 20-fantasy point threshold.

Fearless Forecast: 272 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 6 rushing yards, 20.2 fantasy points

Season record: 2-2

Last week: 1-1 (Carson Wentz 27.8, Marcus Mariota 13.3)
