One of the true delights of the WNBA is the outstanding, sometimes breathtaking ball movement. We love it so much at Bally Sports that we are looking at the best assists every week. Enjoy the Dimes of the Week.

This was an important week for assists. The Chicago Sky’s Courtney Vandersloot passed Lindsey Whalen to get to third on the WNBA all-time assists list. Vandersloot’s ability to get the ball into her teammates’ hands is incredible. She has tremendous court vision and always knows where her teammates are, and where they’re headed. This skill has turned her into one of the league’s best point guards. To show just how good she is, take a look at what she did in the Sky’s overtime win over the Sun.

If you can explain how the Sparks’ Brittany Sykes was able to find Nneka Ogwumike while falling down after getting a rebound in Los Angeles’ loss to Minnesota, then you might be a physicist.

But as good as Sykes and Vandersloot were, Chelsea Gray grabbed her second consecutive Dime of the Week with this play. It’s a behind-the-back inbound pass to Jackie Young in Las Vegas’ win over the Fever. Read that again. A behind-the-back inbound pass that Young immediately converted into two points.

And that’s why Chelsea Gray is the Point Gawd.
