The preseason is officially behind us and we are less than a week away from the NFL’s opening kickoff on Thursday night between the Super Bowl champion Rams and Josh Allen’s title-hungry Bills.

I’ve updated my rankings by moving some guys around and adding some new players.

First, let's get one thing straight: Rankings are subjective. You might agree with some of them and will probably disagree with most, and that's fine. These rankings are based on research I've done while assessing the fantasy landscape, representing most of the opinions out there.

Hopefully, you waited until after the preseason to do your draft because injuries suck.

Also, these rankings are based on half-point PPR, which is what your league should be playing at the least (either half or full PPR). It's 2022, people. Playing non-PPR should be outlawed. Catching the ball in the NFL is not easy, so your players should be rewarded for it.

OK, let's get to the top 100 players for fantasy football this season. May the force be with you!

It's been a rough couple of years filled with injuries for "Run CMC," but the do-it-all running back is healthy and is easily the Panthers' best offensive player when he's available. In his last full season in 2019, McCaffrey racked up 1,387 rushing yards, 116 receptions, 1,005 receiving yards and 19 total touchdowns. IF he can stay healthy (please Fantasy Gods, be kind), the Carolina star can surely get close to his 2019 production.

Kamara has an ongoing legal case as he faces felony battery charges, and he's expected to get a six-game suspension. However, that likely won't go into effect until the 2023 season as the case has already been delayed once. So snag the dynamic Saints running back, who very well could return to his old dominant form this year.

The NFL's fastest player quickly dropped in this year's rankings due to his change of scenery (i.e., his change of quarterback), so don't be surprised if his numbers decline as well. (Even Tua Tagovailoa knows he's no Patrick Mahomes.) Hill is one of the league's best wideouts and should still see plenty of targets, perhaps some backfield carries as well. He is worth drafting in the late second or third rounds.

I'm big on Pittman and you should be too. The third-year receiver figures to be Matt Ryan's top target as Indy's WR1. Expect an increase in numbers across the board for Pittman, who more than doubled his receptions and receiving yards in his sophomore season while hauling in six TDs.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Hall was the first running back selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, after rushing for 3,941 yards and 50 touchdowns and averaging 5.5 yards per carry during three seasons at Iowa State. He also had 82 receptions. The three-down back could overtake Michael Carter Jr. as the Jets’ primary RB sooner rather than later. Whether he starts or not, Hall will get a ton of volume in his first year and should be drafted in the fourth or fifth round. He tops my list of impactful rookies.

35. Cam Akers, RB, Rams

Don't sleep on Cam Akers. He missed most of last season with an Achilles injury but this year, he's all systems go for the Rams and should see a big workload and goalline carries. He has the upper hand over Darrell Henderson who was a decent fill-in for Akers in 2021 but failed to showcase true RB1 capability.

Cooks might not be a sexy pick, but he is a smart one. He's recorded six 1,000-yard seasons in his eight years in the NFL despite playing with a plethora of quarterbacks. He's also the Texans' best pass catcher and accounted for a 25.6% target share in 2021 which was tied for seventh in the league. Expect Cooks to see similar volume and production as he did last year.

After three solid seasons, Montgomery's numbers dipped in 2021, and that could happen again in 2022. The Bears have depth at running back with Khalil Herbert and rookie Trestan Ebner, a sixth-round pick from Baylor who's impressed in the preseason. Montgomery will presumably be the starter come Week 1, but this figures to be a committee effort in the Bears' backfield.

DeAndre Hopkins is suspended for the first six games of the season, and Christian Kirk is now on the Jaguars. That paves the way for Hollywood Brown to feast this fall and even when Nuk returns. The former Ravens receiver ranked 10th in target share last season (24.5%) with Lamar Jackson, and he gets a slight upgrade at QB with Kyler Murray, who's a more accurate passer. Brown is primed to have his best year as a pro in his first season with the Cardinals.

If you're wondering why Jeudy is so low compared to teammate Courtland Sutton, it's because Jeudy is still unproven from a fantasy perspective. He has exceptional route running and separation skills (96th percentile in 2021), and Russell Wilson could maximize them. However, Jeudy also operates from the slot and might not get the red-zone looks like Sutton, who has reportedly built a good rapport with Wilson in Broncos training camp. In Jeudy's defense, he was injured last season and could be in store for a breakout year. Grab him if he's available in the fifth or sixth round depending on the size of your league.

Hurts is entering a make-or-break year in Philly. The Eagles acquired former Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Brown on draft day, and 2021 first-round pick DeVonta Smith looked sharp in training camp. So the weapons are there to make this an explosive Eagles offense, but it all starts with Hurts. Expect him to be a top-five fantasy QB this season.

Sanders showed flashes of being a starting NFL running back in his first two seasons and still could be, but he regressed in 2021 after seeing fewer touches and failing to get in the end zone despite starting 12 games. The Eagles picked up Trey Sermon, who was waived by the 49ers, but Sermon won't start. He could work his way into the RB rotation with Sanders, Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell. Ignore all the Jimmy G hoopla. This is Lance's team now, and he's going to get to showcase his talent this season. His accuracy will be a work in progress, but that's OK because there will be some growing pains. (Hey, no pain, no gain.) And Lance and the Niners have a lot to gain with his arm strength and athleticism that can open up the offense like Garoppolo couldn't. Having weapons like Samuel, Aiyuk and Kittle will make things much easier for Lance as well.

Kirk put up pretty good numbers last season as the Cardinals' WR2, even when DeAndre Hopkins was on the field. This year, he's the Jaguars' WR1 in the slot for second-year QB Trevor Lawrence and first-year head coach Doug Pederson. The Jaguars have 72 million reasons to make sure Kirk gets a ton of targets this year.
