ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Bally Sports Sun, the television home of the Tampa Bay Rays, announced that a new episode of “Rays All-Access” will debut on Saturday, Aug. 6, detailing the team’s community impact through various outreach programs.
The episode is scheduled to premiere at approximately 10 p.m., after the Rays’ game at the Detroit Tigers and the Rays LIVE postgame show.
David Egles, Executive Director of the Rays Baseball Foundation, joins the show to explain the club’s mission to “energize the community through the magic of Rays baseball” and how the foundation is “dedicated to improving the lives of those in need within our community, focusing primarily on youth, education, wellness and social responsibility.”
Working with organizations such as The Children’s Dream Fund, Academy Prep Center, and Feeding Tampa Bay, the Rays are giving kids the chance to meet their heroes, educating through baseball, and providing the local community with nearly one million meals.
This year, the foundation has also provided more than 10,000 shirts and hats to local tee-ball players and coaches, 40,000 children have been involved with the summer “Reading with the Rays” program, and foster groups have been treated to a suite experience at each home game this season, Egles says.
Amanda Griffin, Executive Director of the Children’s Dream Fund, L’Tanya C. Evans, Head of School at Academy Prep Center of Tampa, and Thomas Mantz, President and CEO of Feeding Tampa Bay, are also interviewed on the episode, discussing how their organizations team up with the Rays and how others can help out.
Tune in to Bally Sports Sun starting at 6 p.m. Saturday for the Rays LIVE pregame show, followed by Rays-Tigers, postgame coverage and then the premiere of this new episode of “Rays All-Access.”
The show will be re-aired throughout the month.
