The St. Louis Cardinals recalled INF/OF Juan Yepez from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday as OF Tyler O'Neill was placed on the 10-day IL due to a right foot sprain.

The Cardinals recalled Yepez from Memphis for the third time this season. He was last recalled on May 5 and optioned back to Memphis on June 9. The 25-year-old has hit .255 with nine home runs and 69 RBIs in his 86 games with Memphis this season.

O'Neill's season was already plagued by a lengthy stint on the injured list because of a lower back strain. He was originally placed on the 10-day IL on May 5 before being transferred to the 60-day IL and working his way back to be activated on July 20.

In his 72 games with the Cardinals this season, O'Neill hit .231 with nine home runs and 21 RBIs.
