The St. Louis Blues made a change on their blue line Wednesday, recalling one player (Steven Santini) from their AHL affiliate in Springfield and assigning another (Tyler Tucker) back to the Thunderbirds.

Santini, 27, is a veteran of 119 career NHL regular-season games, including three with the Blues two seasons ago after being signed as a free agent in October 2020. He also played in one playoff game with St. Louis last season. He has played 32 games with the Thunderbirds this season, posting five points (two goals, three assists).

Tucker, 22, has spent most of this season in Springfield, tallying 13 points (one goal, 12 assist) over 25 games. The 2018 seventh-round draft pick played in four games with the Blues after making his NHL debut in mid-November during an earlier stint with the club.

The Blues are tinkering with their options on defense following the loss of Torey Krug (lower-body injury) for probably another five weeks following his placement on long-term injured reserve last week.
