Nathan Walker, the Australian who endeared himself to St. Louis Blues fans with a hat trick in his first appearance following his call-up from the AHL in December, is back within shouting distance of the big club.

Walker, 27, played in seven NHL games while the Blues were short-handed because of injuries and illness. Once the roster started to get healthy, he was assigned to the taxi squad and then, last Thursday, returned to their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Walker played three games with Springfield, collecting a goal and an assist while earning the game's second star in the first game and notching another assist in the second. He now has 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) with the Thunderbirds and five points (four goals, one assist) with the Blues this season.

The Blues' next game is Thursday at home against the expansion Seattle Kraken. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on Bally Sports Midwest.
