The St. Louis Blues boosted their defensive depth on Friday morning, signing Swedish defenseman Leo Loof to a three-year, two-way entry-level deal.

The Blues selected the 6-foot-1, 187-pound left-handed shooting defenseman in the third round of the 2020 draft.

Loof, 21, tallied four goals and 12 assists with a plus-22 rating in 55 games with Ilves Tampere of SM-Liiga, Finland's top professional league, in 2022-23. He's the latest addition to a talented young group of defensive prospects that also includes Michael Buchinger, Matthew Kessel, Anton Malmström, Scott Perunovich and Tyler Tucker, among others.
