Defenseman Steven Santini hasn't played a lot this season, but he's shown enough to earn a new contract from the St. Louis Blues.
The club has signed Santini to a two-year, two-way contract extension, the team announced Tuesday.
The Blues signed Santini as a free agent last October. The 26-year-old has appeared in one game with the Blues and five games with the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League this season, spending most of his time on the Blues' taxi squad or awaiting Utica's season to resume after COVID-19 interruptions.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder was a second-round draft pick by the New Jersey Devils in 2013. He has scored 21 points (five goals, 16 assists) in 117 career NHL games with the Devils (114 games), Predators (two) and Blues (one).
