The St. Louis Blues dropped their first preseason game in a 5-2 loss to the Dallas Stars on Saturday.

The Blues' fifth exhibition game took place at Cable Dahmer Arena, the home of the ECHL's Kansas City Mavericks in in Independence, Missouri.

Logan Brown netted his fourth goal of the preseason and Pavel Buchnevich scored the other St. Louis goal. The Blues had just 17 shots on goal for the game.

Joel Hofer started between the pipes and stopped 19 of 24 shots on goal.
