Sporting Kansas City midfielder Gadi Kinda will play in a pair of friendly matches with the Israel Men's National Team during the FIFA international window in June, Sporting announced Tuesday.

Israel will play at Montenegro on June 5 and at Portugal on June 9. The matches are tuneups for the start of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying in September.

Kinda, 27, was born in Ethiopia and raised in Israel. He was selected to Israel's senior team for UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying in the fall of 2019 but did not play. He previously represented Israel at the U-18, U-19 and U-21 youth levels.

Kinda has three goals and one assist in eight appearances for Sporting this season. He was named the Sporting KC Newcomer of the Year in 2020 after recording 10 combined goals and assists and creating 26 scoring chances, second on the team behind Johnny Russell.

It was previously announced that Sporting striker Alan Pulido would join Mexico's Men's National Team for the 2021 Concacaf Nations League Finals on June 3 and 6 in Denver, followed by a June 12 friendly against Honduras in Atlanta.
