The Kansas City Royals made a series of roster moves involving three pitchers ahead of Wednesday's game against the Oakland Athletics.

The Royals placed Wade Davis on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to Sept. 12. Davis had a 0-3 record and 6.75 ERA through 40 games this season.

In a corresponding move, the Royals selected left-handed pitcher Gabe Speier from the minors and transferred southpaw Richard Lovelady from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. Lovelady is dealing with a sprained UCL.
