Tyler Cropley is remaining in the Kansas City Royals system. After being designated for assignment Monday, the catcher cleared waivers and received an outright assignment to Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.

The Royals selected Cropley's contract from Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Saturday, following Freddy Fermin's placement on the 10-day injured list with a left middle finger fracture. Prior to being designated for a assignment, Cropley did not appear in a game for the Royals.

Cropley slashed .234/.329/.359 with six doubles and four home runs in 43 games for the Travelers. Kansas City replaced him on the roster with catcher Logan Porter from Triple-A Omaha on Monday.
