Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez was named a finalist for the 2021 Louisville Silver Slugger Award at catcher on Monday, setting him up for a potential fourth time receiving the award.

The finalists represent the best offensive performers at each position in baseball as voted on by managers and coaches. Perez joins Tampa Bay's Mike Zunino and the Yankees' Gary Sánchez as the American League catchers to be named finalists.

Perez tied for the major league lead with 48 home runs and led MLB with 121 RBIs in 2021. He became the second primary catcher to lead the majors in both home runs and RBIs, joining Johnny Bench, who completed the feat twice.

Perez has won the Silver Slugger Award three times, earning the honor in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

The winners will be announced Nov. 11.
