The Indiana Pacers have signed Bennedict Mathurin, the sixth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, to a contract ahead of the NBA Summer League.

Mathurin, a University of Arizona product, is the first of the three players the Pacers drafted last month to sign a deal. The Pacers also chose Gonzaga's Andrew Nembhard and Baylor's Kendall Brown in the second round of the draft.

A 6-foot-6 shooting guard/small forward, Mathurin averaged 17.7 points. 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists last season, when he was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year. He shot 45% from the field, including 36.9% from 3-point range, which helped the Wildcats reach the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
